"Utopia is possible. ICSID. Ibiza 1971"
The exhibition commemorates the celebration in Ibiza, between 14 and 16 October 1971, the Seventh Congress of the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID), an event conceived as a meeting point between design and experimental forms of art and architecture. The conference became a test to study the relationship between these practices and represented a new way of understanding the design. In this regard, it preceded the meetings of Pamplona, held the following year, thereby prolonging the participatory spirit that ICSID opened in a natural environment. The utopia is possible. ICSID, Ibiza 1971", underlines also the ideas that can be drawn from Congress for our time, such as sustainability, participation, solidarity, new industrial relations society and the role of liberating experience art. This memory exercise consists of documentary material, photographs and films from various archives and MACBA's archive, as well as examples of oral history.
